Pain 100% Hot Sauce Taste Test Review. The folks at Original Juan Specialty Foods (originaljuan.com) make some outstanding sauces & I've had a date with this one scheduled for quite some time. So, what's in it, how did it taste, how about that heat, & how would I use it? INGREDIENTS Habanero Peppers, Water, Tomato Paste, Natural Pepper Flavoring, Salt and Spices. TASTE: Habs, but not that really sweet fruity orange hab flavor, more that pungent caribbean red flavor with a slight hint of fruit flavor hiding behind the tomato & spices. Had a hint of an extract kinda flavor to it, but wasn't terribly overbearing. I asked June what she thought of it, she said, "It taste like HOT.". LMAO, I would have to agree with her on that. Mostly, it didn't waste any time getting hot & staying hot. There wasn't really much of a flavor profile to it other than it had a descent aftertaste & by that I mean it didn't have a bitter aftertaste. HEAT: This was a hot one. It had an instant burn that INSTANTLY attacked the back of the throat, even before I had swallowed, kinda surprised me. Then, there was an extract kinda build that moved all around the mouth & kept building for a good 3+ minutes. Then just when you thought you were outta the woods, the burn hung around for a good 10 minutes before it started to SLOWLY let up & the burn wasn't just in the mouth. Warmed up the stomach for an hour or so...Don't do this one on an empty stomach for sure. Outstanding burn that any chile head would be ...
